First US mining moratorium

The bill approved on Friday 3 May had already been passed for the first time last April. The aim is to ban all mining operations for the next two years. The next step is to take the bill to the governor, in this case governoress, for final approval.

If approved, it would make New York the first state in the United States to establish a moratorium on mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. This could create a groundswell and encourage other states to adopt this control measure.

From our point of view, the ideal situation is to optimise and enhance green mining immediately, to avoid environmental impact and restrictive measures that do not favour the ecosystem.

While we wait for the governor's response, many projects are already working to minimise the ecological footprint.

That is the way forward.
